Meet Katlyn from the Teen Advisory Board

ImageKatlyn Babyak of Centreville, Va. is far from your ordinary high school student. Although she was homeschooled, Katlyn remained an active student in her community and participates in numerous activities.

As a senior, Babyak enjoys studying English, Literature, History and Spanish. She is a current member of the National Honor Society for High School Scholars. For two consecutive years she has won awards in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy essay/speech contest.

Outside of her studying and school work, Babyak participates enjoys singing, dancing, drawing and reading. She is involved in choir, volleyball and drama. To add to the list of her activities, she also takes a photography class.

Babyak’s future goals include attending either George Manson University (www.gmu.eduor Christopher Newport University (www.cnu.edu) in the fall. Although she has yet to decide which college to attend, Babyak is also deciding what career path to pursue. Her many options include international studies, journalism or human rights. She has even considered teaching English abroad.
